INSIDE THE FILMING WITH DIMELO305
Dimelo305 recently went behind the scenes with Department of Environmental Resources Management (DERM), the Miami-Dade County office responsible for protecting the county’s air, water, land, and wildlife. Through interviews and on-site production, our team captured the people and initiatives working to preserve South Florida’s natural resources while helping bring these efforts closer to the community.
DIMELO305 BEHIND THE SCENES WITH DERM
Dimelo305 recently had the opportunity to go behind the scenes with the Department of Environmental Resources Management (DERM), the Miami-Dade County government office responsible for protecting the county’s air, water, land, and wildlife.
During the visit, the Dimelo305 crew documented part of the work being done across Miami-Dade to support environmental protection, sustainability, and ecosystem preservation. From filming interviews to capturing the professionals behind these initiatives, our team highlighted the people and efforts dedicated to safeguarding South Florida’s natural resources. These are the teams working every day to ensure that the environment surrounding our communities remains healthy and resilient for future generations.
DERM oversees environmental regulations, ecosystem restoration, permitting processes, and environmental code compliance for activities that impact natural resources across the county. The department plays an important role in monitoring environmental conditions, responding to potential environmental concerns, and guiding projects that help balance development with the protection of Miami-Dade’s unique ecosystems. DERM is now part of the Miami-Dade County Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources (RER), which brings together several departments focused on responsible growth, sustainability, and environmental stewardship.
For Dimelo305, experiences like this represent what our platform is all about—connecting the community with the people and organizations working every day to make Miami a better place. Through storytelling, interviews, and media production, we aim to shine a light on initiatives that impact everyday life across the 305 while helping residents better understand the work happening behind the scenes.
Stay tuned as we share more from this collaboration and continue highlighting the important environmental efforts taking place throughout Miami-Dade County.
