A TASTE OF PERU: Dimelo305 Attends Proclamation Honoring Chef Henry Vera & 5 Esquinas on Peruvian Independence Day

On July 28th, Dimelo305 had the honor of attending a cultural and culinary celebration that went far beyond a lunch — it was a proclamation of legacy, passion, and pride. At the heart of Miami Beach, the Peruvian flag flew high at 5 Esquinas, where city officials, media, and VIP guests gathered to recognize the extraordinary impact of chef and restaurateur Henry Vera.

In a special ceremony led by Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner, Henry Vera was formally honored for his contributions to the city’s cultural and culinary landscape. Through his restaurant, 5 Esquinas, Vera has not only introduced countless locals and tourists to the rich flavors of Peru, but also built a bridge between communities through food, hospitality, and heritage.

The event, held at 1536 Alton Road, took place on a symbolic date — Peru’s Independence Day — adding an even deeper layer of meaning. From the ceviches to the causas, the celebration was as flavorful as it was heartfelt. Dimelo305 was there to take it all in: from the speeches and ceremonial proclamation to the vibrant community that came out to support a true cultural ambassador.

At Dimelo305, we always say: we don’t just cover events, we show up for culture. And this one was unforgettable.

Congratulations to Henry Vera and the team at 5 Esquinas. Your success is our city’s pride.
